Work n Progress

Happy Monday all, if of course you’re reading this on Monday, if not Happy Day, whatever day it is <3

I am making sure I write my blog posts this week, even if I’m not entirely sure what I am writing about. I am getting a clearer idea on what Indgosky2Knit is doing in the future, both my teaching side and my creative selling side. Not only that, but am also working out how to progress my aromatherapy and crystal business in line with my position as an independent consultant for NYR Organics.

Of course attempting to grow 2 businesses and declutter a life and home around 3 children, 2 home educated and 1 toddler, well let’s just say it takes some serious planning and organisation.

Last week I got a gorgeous new planner from Cordwain Higgler which will perfectly suit my business planner inserts from Ultimate Success Planner on Etsy. Now I have my business planner, home ed diary and family organiser, and my personal life journal in 3 separate binders, which means 3 times the planning fun 😉

So this week I am working on some fabulous custom orders, an adult waterfall cardigan, starting a chunky adult sweater and a child’s ballet shrug. I am also making as many little baby items as I possibly can to add to my Etsy shop. I am also putting out my first call for beta testers of my online video teaching or adults, sign up to my newsletter for details of that, even though I’m still not sure where and how that is working, but that’s why I need some lovely testers.

I’ll be teaching local home educated children tomorrow, as well as taking my own girls to their various classes and groups through the week, we have art, football and a couple of social events. Then before I know it it’s Sunday again and I’m planning another week!

I am loving this journey though, this journey to living the life I want, giving my children the freedom they deserve and watching my husband find and follow his dreams too <3

Have a great week lovely readers, and maybe I will get another post or two written this week. Oh yes, it’s great to be back.

Much love and best wishes

Davina 😀

Dreaming the dream

It is Monday, and it is planning time for me.

As I am still in a relatively quite time with custom orders I am thinking of plans for the business as a whole, dreaming up ideas for the products which are most popular within my Etsy store, and thinking of ways to make more new items that will be well received. I have spent today writing a list of all the things I need to have set up and running this year, my mail list (for 2 businesses), my website for Indigosky2Knit, videos for knitting and crochet tutorials, ideas of how I want to move my aromatherapy and crystal business forward, the list gets longer (and that’s aside from all the home life ideas 😀 )

Did you know that imagination is key to moving your ideas forward? What you think of first is what becomes your reality. I have huge aspirations for what I am doing this year, and I have been working on visualising these to get them clear in mind. Then when the opportunities to help them move forward present themselves I am ready and jumping at the chance.

I used to have wild dreams as a kid for the future, but you know the usual thing of life getting in the way and you slowly forget how to dream. Well I am back to having massive ideas come up in my dreams for my business, my home, my family, even for the kinds of holidays we will have. I am so excited for the future, that even the occasional blip life throws at me doesn’t stop me being super excited for what is happening this year, or even right now, in this moment.

Enjoy and be thankful for all you have right now.

Much love to you all

Trying to work it all out

Never underestimate the work going on in the back ground of a small business/entrepreneur/mompreneur. Much of which we are doing in our ‘free time’.

IMG_20170814_094207_254I seem to spend most of my days at the moment writing lists and working out plans for how and when I can do things. A lot of these plans are dependant on how much income I get from my businesses, and January and February have a reputation for being quiet.

I literally have no new orders at the moment, which is unusual for me, and only a couple of outstanding ones to work on. On the plus side this is giving me time to work on some new things, which is part of the bigger plan, but the quiet time does mean I can’t follow through just yet on working further on those bigger plans, like setting up my website or buying new equipment to set up my video work.

Times like this have made me feel like I should give it all up, it’s time to go out and find a ‘proper’ job which is reliable, but then I’d be more limited on what I could do with the Big, Small and Teeny girls home education, in fact that possibly wouldn’t even be an option. So as I watch my Small girl playing football, and take my Big girl swimming, and see the Teeny girl at our local messy play group, I remember this is why I have chosen this life, and I work all the more at trying to work out how I can best serve people who will support me in my businesses.

If reading this consider taking a look around my Etsy Store and picking up something that this week will help me take my kids to their various activities and maybe even move that website forward. Or if organic skin care and natural products are more your thing, be sure to check out my Neals Yard replica site

Much love and gratitude to you all

Busy, busy, busy

Wow, seriously this life is non-stop! I love it and wouldn’t change it, but organisation is a must, and I’m still getting on top of that, haha.

This year so far has seen, my Big and Small girls start drama classes, my Small girl start soccer coaching and my Teeny girl return to our local messy play group where she’d not been for a several months. Tomorrow sees the return of the much loved art classes for my Big girl, with my Small girl starting her course in another 8 weeks time.

As well as that I have been teaching knitting once a week to fellow home educated children, and at the Small girl’s footy class I am teaching a fellow mum crochet. This is all leading me to the next step for Indigosky2Knit, which you will have to stay tuned for 😉

This is home ed life, this is what I’ve looked forward to since we first made the decision around 9 years ago when I was pregnant for the first time. A long history of home ed from my older sister, and a fabulous example of how great it can be in my now grown nephews, it is them that keeps me going on days where I wobble. All these great chances my girls get to follow their own interests at such a young age are all brought about by the work I do, and of course Mr I2K’s gardening and graphics work.

I’m looking forward to how much further we’re going this year with all our adventures, and it is all down to every single person who supports our businesses, so if you’re here reading this, even for that little support, Thank You.

Much love

Ahhhh, Getting Back into that Monday Groove

Hey Lovelies and Happy Motivational Monday.img_20180106_123237_7961901669046.jpg

So, all the celebrations are over now, in the last 2 weeks two of my girlies have gotten a whole year older, and NOW I can get back into the normal routine of Home Ed, Working Mum, Housewife life. Phew!

want somethingYeah, that means my Monday is back to getting out and working in peace in a nice local coffee shop. No clingy toddlers, no kids spellings, no ‘mum, mum, mum, look at what I drew/wrote/watched.’ My days like this are fabulous as they give me space and clarity, allow me to write and plan and focus for the week. I’ve said it before, but I LOVE MONDAY! Changing that whole negative vibe most people feel for Monday is life changing, Go on, Try It!

rainbowsAnyway, towards the middle of last week I asked for some ideas of what quotes move and motivate my social media audience? I got a handful of lovely pictures back with some great ideas, plus made one or two of my own. I’ve added them through the post today to inspire you for the week ahead and to come back and check out. If you feel inspired, or have a favourite of your own, let me know in the comments below. I might just add them to my collection <3quotes_creator_20180107_1105062039470655.png

Have a great week lovely people, Stay Motivated, Stay Happy
With much love

Motivational Monday

quote-1460228_640 I am keeping myself motivated for the coming week with some happy inspirational quotes, affirmations and thoughts and I want to share some with you all.

I have come a long way in the last 2 months in my own mindfulness and self care, and it is showing in my life, my house, my family and of course my businesses. I have been actively finding gratitude for everything, even for the seemingly negative, like drinking too much wine last night and staying up having a Facebook argument, oops! What do I possibly have to be grateful for, waking up late, with a toddler and 6 year old climbing on me fighting for cuddles, and a slight headache to boot? How could I possible find positives in that?

Well, just a few short months ago I’d have let that set me up for a negative start to the week, I’d have complained about it in a negative way and I’d have stated on my Social Media that that was just typical for a Monday, even though I always take time for myself on a Monday, I’d have still used it negatively.

chalkboard-1927332_640So how can I have found happiness and been grateful for the late start, headache and noisy shouting kids? First of all, 2 of my beautiful children were fighting over loving me! They just wanted to cuddle me so tight, and how can I not love and be happy about that <3 The reason for the extra wine last night? Celebrating a HUGELY successful week, more orders in one week than I’ve taken since the start of the year, more opportunities for the coming week, and knowing this is only the beginning of my awesome journey into making life better for all those around me! I can’t help but be grateful for the slight physical reminder of how happy I was last night. And of course I have been out of that noise and chaos all day, so I made the most of the cuddles while I had them. I also got to eat the best hangover cure in my local town hall cafe, bacon, egg and mushrooms in gluten free bread, so I wasn’t going to be feeling any worse!

As for the Facebook argument? Well I’m owning that mistake! I am using it as a reminder that I should not be going on Social Media after I’ve turned my computer and got ready for bed, that one slip into an old habit does not mean I have to stop all my new habits and become my old self again. I am still making steps forward to a better, happier life everyday. One slip into an old habit, does not mean you’re screwed forever! Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and carry on being the best you you can be, and then be even better!

motivational-999247_640I cannot wait to share more of my dreams and plans over the coming months, for now I’ll leave you with one more thought. Make sure you look after you, make your space bright and fill it with what makes you happy, whether it’s your car, your office, your kitchen, or some other room in your house, or even just your desk at work, make it so every time you see it, it makes YOU smile 😀

Write down every little thing, every day that has made you smile, made you happy, brought you joy or peace, and know if you do this every single day, you will start to be the happiest YOU! (OK that might have been 2 more thoughts ;-P <3 )

Have a fabulous week everyone

Much love and peace to you all

Ready to ship woolly goodies

Today’s post is simply a run down of this weeks ready to ship Etsy listings, plus read to the end to find out what I’m giving away over in my Facebook group this month

First up from the start of this week, this adorable pair of tiny longies. These are 100% pure wool so are ideal to use as a nappy cover over cloth nappies/diapers. for more info on why you should use wool, or how to care for it I’ll be writing blogs in the future <3

IMG_20170903_092943_279

These cuties are perfect for little feet, made to for up to 6 months, they’re soft hand dyed superwash wool.

IMG_20170502_092746_600

A brand new make from last weekend, these cotton adult wristwarmers. Made from chunky 100% cotton yarn, and I have enough yarn to make a second pair, which means there are 2 pairs listed over on Etsy.

IMG_20170904_204017_536

I cannot believe this cutie has made it through the summer without being snapped up, especially through the sale, but here it is. This sweet baby girl sunhat will fit up to age 9 months, and is 100% cotton. This is meant for some cutie little baby, so it will find it’s right home very soon <3

IMG_20170710_133004_253

Looking for a gift for a mum, or a good friend? This lovely soft cotton/wool blend shawl is so lovely. It is really easy care, it just needs a quick cool dip in water, squeeze the excess water out and then leave it to dry. It is one of the quickest things I’ve seen dry.

PhotoGrid_1494267703154

This cute little hat will fit age 3-6 months or longer. It is a wool/cotton/acrylic blend.

PhotoGrid_1494346232455

And finally, the longest a pair of these have sat in stock, this pair of rainbow striped, crocodile stitch baby booties. These will fit 0-3 months or longer. Made from machine washable (as wool) wool/nylon blend yarn, they are one of my most popular items (I’ve made 2 or 3 bigger pairs in the time these have been in stock), but shockingly these have not yet sold. Pop over and check them out <3

IMG_20170423_074059_590

If you’d like to see any of these, then join me for my Facebook live on Sunday, where I will also be sharing more on this months September giveaway, if you can’t wait till then, then here is a little clue:

Have a fabulous weekend

Much love

Wednesday is study day

As I have mentioned more than once as well as Indigosky2Knit I have the pleasure of representing NYR Organics as an Independant Consultant, selling a whole range of organic bath, beauty and healthy living products. Some of those include a wide range of aromatherapy essential oils and other items.

So I am very excited to share that I have been working on my first 2 modules of my course to train as an aromatherapist. This is a mega step in my long term business goals and plans.

The art of aromatherapy

I have been taken back in time to ancient Egypt and Cleopatra, Greece and Rome and Galen who was a fore thinking doctor of the time, and on to early 20th century France to learn some of the history of what would move on to be the foundation of modern day aromatherapy. Some of the information I’ve read I even remember from my High School study of early medicine.

20170906_111719

I then travelled right forward to modern times and the likes of Robert Tisserand who has been fundamental in getting the medical properties of aromatherapy recognised. This is all the kind of thing I love to learn.

Healing and caring for health has been an interest for so long when asked about my first experience of aromatherapy I struggled to think when it was, as I’ve known some basics for most of my life.

Of course the obligatory gluten free cake was consumed 😉

I will be featuring aromatherapy in particular at my next NYR party over on Facebook at the end of September, so why not pop over and join me.

20170819_151539.jpg

The rest of my week will be fun with the kids and completion of 3 of my Indigosky2Knit orders, keep your eyes open for those on Sunday’s Facebook Live here, and on Monday’s blog post.

Much love to you all

A new week, new plans

Here we are a few days into a new month, at the start of a new week, and I am FULL of all kinds of new plans. Over the coming weeks and months I’ll be talking about some of these.

For now I just want to make sure I post a blog after missing a week, to prove to myself, the universe, and all, that I am not going down old paths. I am continuing with this blog, and with my BIG career and business plans into my old age!

What are this weeks plans

Today, Monday, is admin day. I have been searching for knitted adult dress designs and then it was baby cardigans. So much variety and diversity. I have got the Etsy listings for the week planned out, some newbies, some relistings of Ready to Ship and Made to Order items. Do drop me a comment with any ready to ship items you’d like to see.

The projects of the week are Christmas coloured geometric elf slippers, a stunning lace adult cardigan and a unicorn, for custom items. Ready to ship items will include some adult headbands and one or two starts on Octoberfest projects, ready for the mega Facebook event I’m part of in a little over a month. So again if there’s any autumn or Halloween themed items you’d like to see then drop me a comment below.

Have a fabulous week and check back on Wednesday for what else I’m up to this week

Much love and joy
