It’s all happening

I feel the difference! The relief of the stresses of recent months is so tangible I can almost grasp it, hold it close and then let it go.

In the last 2 weeks alone I feel I have accomplished more for Indigosky2Knit’s big plans than I have in the whole of the rest of the year before.

I have made (but not yet edited) my intro video for my You Tube channel (watch this space). I have started to discover the wonders of Canva, and all the things I can now use it to create for work (and fun 😀 ).

I have been using resources that I have been paying for for almost a year to start to create amazing things.

In the words of the fabulous Carrie Green: ‘I can, and I will, watch me!’

Much love and best wishes

Busy, busy, busy

Wow, seriously this life is non-stop! I love it and wouldn’t change it, but organisation is a must, and I’m still getting on top of that, haha.

This year so far has seen, my Big and Small girls start drama classes, my Small girl start soccer coaching and my Teeny girl return to our local messy play group where she’d not been for a several months. Tomorrow sees the return of the much loved art classes for my Big girl, with my Small girl starting her course in another 8 weeks time.

As well as that I have been teaching knitting once a week to fellow home educated children, and at the Small girl’s footy class I am teaching a fellow mum crochet. This is all leading me to the next step for Indigosky2Knit, which you will have to stay tuned for 😉

This is home ed life, this is what I’ve looked forward to since we first made the decision around 9 years ago when I was pregnant for the first time. A long history of home ed from my older sister, and a fabulous example of how great it can be in my now grown nephews, it is them that keeps me going on days where I wobble. All these great chances my girls get to follow their own interests at such a young age are all brought about by the work I do, and of course Mr I2K’s gardening and graphics work.

I’m looking forward to how much further we’re going this year with all our adventures, and it is all down to every single person who supports our businesses, so if you’re here reading this, even for that little support, Thank You.

Much love

Time to Teach

Hey lovelies, halfway to the weekend already! Today I’m talking about the very start of some of this years plans.

Towards the end of 2017 I started to teach. As a home educating mum who happens to 20170213_101444995190863.jpgknit and crochet I have been asked a few times about teaching children yarn crafts. A couple of years ago when I was juggling a relatively new baby and had newly moved house, I did a handful of lessons back in the city we had moved from. This presented a few challenges that ultimately ended up in my having to discontinue them. Almost an hour travel by train each way, occasional missing of lessons by students after I’d arrived, the baby (who came with me at that point) turning into a toddler who didn’t want to sit still for 3 hours while I taught, and just life, all got quite hectic. I was quite sad, because it was something I enjoyed, and I did vow to restart local to me, where I could stay home if everyone suddenly fell down sick, or the weather was so awful noone wanted to attend. But, my fears and worries all kept making me put it off.

20171205_1122122128706627.jpgAround October last year, the mum of one of the children I had previously taught put a request out for knitting teachers again. Local to me, and having been a previous pupil, I decided it was the sign I was waiting for to get my at together and start again. So I did! This time with more confidence, not in my crafts, I have been doing those long enough to trust my skill, but in my ability to assist someone else to make something incredible.

In the meantime I had managed to teach one of my own children to the point she has finished projects and have had enough interest from adults to know once I have the resources adult lessons will be next. Yes, that’s right in a few weeks time I will be putting a call out for my first virtual, adult students to learn to knit or crochet.

For now I hope you’ve enjoyed the little pics through of my various students work, they do so great for little hands (my youngest student is just 7) and keep your eyes open in my Facebook Group for that call for adults students coming soon.

With much love

Wednesday is study day

As I have mentioned more than once as well as Indigosky2Knit I have the pleasure of representing NYR Organics as an Independant Consultant, selling a whole range of organic bath, beauty and healthy living products. Some of those include a wide range of aromatherapy essential oils and other items.

So I am very excited to share that I have been working on my first 2 modules of my course to train as an aromatherapist. This is a mega step in my long term business goals and plans.

The art of aromatherapy

I have been taken back in time to ancient Egypt and Cleopatra, Greece and Rome and Galen who was a fore thinking doctor of the time, and on to early 20th century France to learn some of the history of what would move on to be the foundation of modern day aromatherapy. Some of the information I’ve read I even remember from my High School study of early medicine.

I then travelled right forward to modern times and the likes of Robert Tisserand who has been fundamental in getting the medical properties of aromatherapy recognised. This is all the kind of thing I love to learn.

Healing and caring for health has been an interest for so long when asked about my first experience of aromatherapy I struggled to think when it was, as I’ve known some basics for most of my life.

Of course the obligatory gluten free cake was consumed 😉

I will be featuring aromatherapy in particular at my next NYR party over on Facebook at the end of September, so why not pop over and join me.

The rest of my week will be fun with the kids and completion of 3 of my Indigosky2Knit orders, keep your eyes open for those on Sunday’s Facebook Live here, and on Monday’s blog post.

Much love to you all
