Time for change

End of an era

I have been meaning to write this post for some time, but life, death, work, learning, …… just about every excuse and reason imaginable has caused me to either forget on days I’m free to write, or made me remember only at times I haven’t been able to.

Enough of the excuses though. I know they don’t serve me. they literally keep me from my own success because if I’m not providing accurate information, well how can you, dear readers, find out where I am.

So for newbies to me blog, and for oldies who may have been wondering: I am about to close down my Etsy shop and move my products elsewhere. There are a few reason for this, but mainly it is to support UK sites more, and to be more worth the money I pay out in fess. I’m sure you’ll agree that if as an independent business it’s possible to keep overheads down then it’s worth doing.

Anyone who has followed me or seen me on Facebook or Instagram probably already knows. I now have 2 shiny new(ish) shops, on 2 new platforms.

Two New Shops

bespoke knitwear by indigosky2knit

First up is my nuMONDAY shop. I opened this back in May because they were offering free imports of Etsy listings, and with a set monthly fee I didn’t have anything to lose. This is currently where I am concentrating my custom items. That is anything that is made to order at all that was previously listed on Etsy is now in this shop. I almost have everything I used to have there now available and I am working on adding more specific listings over the coming months.

My second new shop is on a brand new marketplace site which opened back in July 2018. The Heartizan Magical Marketplace is another UK based site ran by fellow crafters and makers who have done a great deal of work before they even launched to make the experience for sellers the best they can.

Despite the concerns and stresses of my personal life in the last few months, I have still been able to glean more from the information passed on than in my previous 4 years selling on Etsy. I still have a long way to go, but then aren’t we all as entrepreneurs always learning more about business and best practice for selling ourselves and our products.

So over at Indigosky2knit on Heartizan you can find all my ready to ship items, plus a selection of best sellers. That is anything that I have already made and will be shipped immediately is found over there. In addition to these products I have also decided to add one or two of my best sellers. This includes Breastfeeding Hats, Dragon Scale Gloves and Crocodile Stitch booties. I will also be adding in wool nappy covers and high top baby booties, as well as one or two other items as time goes on.

ready to ship knitwear from Indigosky2knit

For now I just wanted to make sure this information on shop changes was here, before my Etsy shop closes, and anyone coming here from over there can easily find what there looking for about where you can now buy from.

Much love and peace

Ready to ship woolly goodies

Today’s post is simply a run down of this weeks ready to ship Etsy listings, plus read to the end to find out what I’m giving away over in my Facebook group this month

First up from the start of this week, this adorable pair of tiny longies. These are 100% pure wool so are ideal to use as a nappy cover over cloth nappies/diapers. for more info on why you should use wool, or how to care for it I’ll be writing blogs in the future <3

These cuties are perfect for little feet, made to for up to 6 months, they’re soft hand dyed superwash wool.

A brand new make from last weekend, these cotton adult wristwarmers. Made from chunky 100% cotton yarn, and I have enough yarn to make a second pair, which means there are 2 pairs listed over on Etsy.

I cannot believe this cutie has made it through the summer without being snapped up, especially through the sale, but here it is. This sweet baby girl sunhat will fit up to age 9 months, and is 100% cotton. This is meant for some cutie little baby, so it will find it’s right home very soon <3

Looking for a gift for a mum, or a good friend? This lovely soft cotton/wool blend shawl is so lovely. It is really easy care, it just needs a quick cool dip in water, squeeze the excess water out and then leave it to dry. It is one of the quickest things I’ve seen dry.

This cute little hat will fit age 3-6 months or longer. It is a wool/cotton/acrylic blend.

And finally, the longest a pair of these have sat in stock, this pair of rainbow striped, crocodile stitch baby booties. These will fit 0-3 months or longer. Made from machine washable (as wool) wool/nylon blend yarn, they are one of my most popular items (I’ve made 2 or 3 bigger pairs in the time these have been in stock), but shockingly these have not yet sold. Pop over and check them out <3

If you’d like to see any of these, then join me for my Facebook live on Sunday, where I will also be sharing more on this months September giveaway, if you can’t wait till then, then here is a little clue:

Have a fabulous weekend

Much love

Glad to be Home!

My girls and I are safely back in West Yorkshire and grateful for it. It’s lovely to see family, but my parents are just over 80 and between my mum’s dementia and my dad’s deteriorating eyesight it is an emotional and mental strain.

For now I wanted to show you some of the beauties I have listed Ready to Ship on Etsy during last week!

First we have this adorable brand new baby skirt! 0-3 months, made from soft hand dyed 100% merino wool yarn by dyed Truly Hooked. The design is one by Paloma Perez.

Next we have this gorgeous green baby dress in 0-3 months, which always reminds me of woodland fairies. This is made from a hand dyed wool/sparkle yarn from Snugglebots. The versatile dress design which works for several more months as a tunic with leggings is by Truly Hooked (yes the same very talented Verity who dyes gorgeous yarn to <3).

Then we have a rainbow kids headband. This cable handband/earwarmer makes a great alternative to hats for chilly autumn days. This one is made from chunky hand dyed superwash wool, dyed by Young Yarns and the design is from Briana K. I have enough yarn to make matching kids mittens too, so do let me know if you would like those making.

20170228_100346-01

This cutie is a gorgeous hand dyed yarn wool nappy cover! This lovely spring rainbow colourways is from Rainbow Fusions. For details on why you should choose wool nappy covers if you use cloth nappies and how to care for them do pop over to my Facebook group.

Finally for last week I have this fox hooded cowl. This is a child size 4-10 years, on the Etsy listing it is modelled on my 7 year old. However if you want to see just how big it is, then pop over to my Facebook group again, where last week I did a live video wearing it to announce this month’s giveaway!

20161108_085940-01

All these are still in the big Summer Sale too, so do pop over and check them out. The Sale ends on the 31st August and anything not sold will be back up to full price, so completely worth shopping for a bargain before then!

My usual Facebook live will be Tuesday as I sadly was limited on data and Wi-Fi while away and am just settling back in and catching up on a few things I missed while away.

Hope you have had a great weekend and have a fabulous week this week too!

Much love

I do love Monday’s!

Happy Monday to you all! At I2K HQ we’ve had our usual busy weekend. Saturdays I tend to take the full day to work on custom orders, and this weekend was no exception! I got 2 small orders compeleted.

Completed Orders

First up, something always close to my heart as a full-term breastfeeding mum, a booby beanie. This one is my first ever 100% cotton one for a vegan customer, because even though I love natural fibres, not everything has to be wool!

IMG_20170814_105408_999

Next up were 2 very cute little kids bracelets, these a custom order for another vegan customer. Ordered while doing a Market event over on Facebook with Sam’s Magical Threads. The beautiful hand dyed cotton was from one of my favourite Indie dyers over at Rainbow Fusions

IMG_20170813_181210_514

That brings me quite perfectly to the project that will be ongoing into this week! These are for the fabulous dyer behind Rainbow Fusions herself. This yarn was dyed by her and sent to me to knit up. I always love getting to make beautiful things with yarn that I’ve not purchased myself. So this is Aurora colourway from RF. I also want to credit Evan Sent Crafts for my pyrography ruler.

Time to Relax

Sunday I spent more relaxed, more work on the above socks, but some time out with my Small and Teeny girls to enjoy where we live. This river is literally at the end of our road, and if you pop over and check my Instgram there’s a couple of videos of this crazy pair!

20170814_133036

The calm, relaxing river walk prepped me for doing my first Facebook Live over in my group, these will be a regular feature and I loved my first one. More there on those orders I’ve shown above.

Why I Love Monday!

That brings us to Monday, which is always about week prep, and I’ve spent the day here planning and writing, two more posts are planned for the week, even though my girls and I are all off to visit family later in the week!

I’ve always made an effort to do something I enjoy on Monday, to shake that apparent negativity it often holds for people! When I was employed, I always tried to take Monday as my day off, and now as a small business owner I always take time to get away from the chaos of being a Work At Home Mum, of course this involves coffee shops and cake!

IMG_20170814_094207_254

Why not set yourself up for a great week by taking even just 10 minutes to do something just for you on a Monday, no matter what the week has in store determine to find some joy in this much maligned day! That will set you up for a fabulous week!

Much love to you all
