Good evening from a very wet West Yorkshire, UK. Well we had summer last week, and then we had thunderstorms! Then my small town, which is on a flood plane had flood warnings, including the siren sounding (think air raid from the Second World War).
And wow! That was a wild week!
So to cheer everyone up I thought it would be nice to give you all a little freebie that my knitting students have been working on this week. You may have seen me talking about how much fun we’ve been having as we start to create things, and the fabulous feedback from one of my students work here.
I thought if you already knit you might enjoy a series of free patterns to bring all the bunting pieces too you. Then once they’re all written I’ll create a PDF to purchase too, and there will be a You Tube video to help you along even if you’re a newbie knitter.

5mm crochet hook
50g Rico Creative Cotton Aran
Darning/wool sewing needle.
Knitted (Garter Stitch) triangles
Cast on 2
Row 1-4: Knit every stitch
Row 5: knit into front and back of the next stitch x2 (4)
Row 6-8: Knit every stitch
Row 9: Knit 1, knit into front and back of the next stitch x2 knit 1 (6)
Row 10-12: Knit every stitch
Row 13: Knit 1, knit into front and back of the next stitch, knit to last 2 stitches, knit into front and back of the next stitch, knit 1. (8)
Row 14-16: Knit every stitch
Row 17: Knit 1, knit into front and back of the next stitch, knit to last 2 stitches, knit into front and back of the next stitch, knit 1. (10)
Row 18-20: Knit every stitch
Row 21: Knit 1, knit into front and back of the next stitch, knit to last 2 stitches, knit into front and back of the next stitch, knit 1. (12)
